Muammer Kırmızıgül was born in 1962 in Istanbul. He graduated from Sultanahmet Vocational High School of Industry, Department of Electrical Studies, in 1980. He began working in the art of pyrography (woodburning) during childhood through pencil drawing and oil painting. He was trained by his uncle, the self-taught artist Halil Gelgeç, who passed away in 1988. Recognized by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism as a pyrography artist, Kırmızıgül is also a certified master instructor approved by the Ministry of National Education. He is the author of the first book on pyrography in Turkey. He has trained many students, including Gülçin Civelek, Serap Şahin, Eda Yil, Aysima İkra Şahin, Şenol Özkaraca, and Tuanna Uzun. Kırmızıgül continues his artistic work at his personal workshop located in Bakırköy, Istanbul. Between 2020 and 2025, he participated in various events held by institutions such as the Rami Library, Sabancı Institute of Advanced Handcrafts, Üsküdar University, and Yeditepe University.
