Born in Bursa in 1974, Tatar graduated from the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management at Uludağ University, and from the Department of Traditional Handicrafts at Akdeniz University in 2023 as valedictorian. Tatar first began learning the craft of pyrography by watching videos, and she improved her skills through academic training. While at university, she participated in exhibitions in Antalya and Istanbul. Tatar, who has trained many students, continues to produce new works by burning traditional and modern patterns on various objects out of such materials as poplar, linden, walnut and birch with traditional methods, and continues to strive for the continuation of this craft across generations.
