Born in Afyonkarahisar in 1953, Şanaldı started his apprenticeship with his father Emin Şanaldı at the age of six, and participated in fairs in Izmir, Istanbul, Ankara and Afyonkarahisar. Şanaldı, who has been practicing the craft of wood carving for fifty years, works as a wood carving crafts instructor at the Afyonkarahisar Taş Medrese.
