Born in Kütahya in 1966, Pektaş graduated from Kütahya Girls' Vocational High School Dressmaking Department. After working as a civil servant and substitute teacher for a short period of time, Pektaş studied accounting and computer training and worked in trade. Pektaş, who is a clothing modelist, has worked in fabric dyeing, wood painting, tile, marbling and ceramics. Focusing on the art of sgrafitto, Pektaş continues producing art in her workshop at Kütahya Kültür ve Sanat Derneği Germiyan Beylik Konağı (Germiyan Beylik Mansion of Kütahya Culture and Art Association), where she served as the general secretary for two terms and vice president for five terms.
