Biricik Saime Akay was born in 1974. She graduated from Üsküdar Vocational High School of Commerce, Accounting Department in 1989. After working in the finance sector, she retired. In 2020, she enrolled in the Ceramic Course at Bodrum Public Education Center in Yalıkavak. Beforehand, she combined her drawings with clay to develop a unique style. Within the course, she participated in two group exhibitions, showcasing her works. In 2024, she started her studies at the Ceramics Department of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, Bodrum Faculty of Fine Arts, where she is currently continuing her education. In May 2025, she took part in a student exhibition held at the historic Bodrum Ottoman Shipyard, organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts. Her interest in plants and flowers is reflected in her drawings and clay works, producing detailed, miniature, and patiently crafted pieces.
