Gülmisal Gölebatmaz Eslek was born in 1988 in Istanbul. After completing her studies in Architectural Restoration at Erzincan University, she graduated top of her class from Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University. Eslek received her çini (traditional Turkish tile art) training from Latife Aktan Özel and her calligraphy training from Ali Toy. In 2015, her work “Karanfilli Çini Tabağı” was selected among 60 pieces for production as a protocol gift by Turkish Airlines. In 2017, she won second place in the çini category of the “Yedi Tepe Yedi Sanat” competition, organized in collaboration with the Istanbul Classical Arts Center and Üsküdar Municipality. Eslek has also participated in various group exhibitions and developed her original concave design called “Mukaar,” which was added to the permanent collection of Yıldız Holding. She served as project consultant for the exhibition “From İznik to the World: Lost Tiles” at the Beylerbeyi Sabancı Olgunlaşma Institute, where she worked actively for six years, producing numerous distinguished works. Currently, Eslek designs protocol gifts for high-level institutions and official offices. She also continues her production and provides one-on-one private training at her workshop in Beykoz–Riva.
