Nuran Turan was born in 1976 in Üsküdar, Istanbul. He graduated from Uludag University, Iznik Vocational School Ceramics Processing Department in 1999 with a first rank. During her school years, she received training on tiling and ceramic technology from Turgut Tuna, Adil Can Güven, Faruk Şahin and Murat İres. She worked as a manager in the ceramics industry between 2000-2005. In Bağlarbaşı İsmek Specialization Center, she took design and application lessons from Levent Kum for three years on classical ceramics patterns. For a short time, she took wheel turning lessons from Mehmet Yıldırım.
In 2011, she was awarded as the Ministry of Culture Ceramics Artist and intangible cultural heritage carrier. In 2010, at the 3rd International Kütahya Ceramics Symposium and at the 1st Eurasian Ceramics Congress were awarded in the ceramics pattern composition category. In 2011, she was awarded the second prize in the contest of ISMEK’s “love, brotherhood and toleration” in the branch of ceramics design composition. Also, in the contest of “7 Hill 7 Art”, she was entitled as encouragement award.
