Ramazan Kocabaş was born in Kütahya in 1967. He worked as a staff trainer and coordinator at İznik Education Foundation. Kocabaş completed his master’s degree at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Fine Arts Faculty Ceramics Department. He started his tile studies with Mehmet Koçer at Kütahya Altın Çini (means ‘golden tile’) in 1985. He continued working at his own workshop after 1989, and has been producing works with new interpretations of classical designs and applications. Kocabaş, who participated in many personal and group exhibitions, did tile foundation studies with Faik Kırımlı. In 2011, he received his Artist Presentation Card given by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
