Ayşe Nurgül Kabasakal was born in Istanbul in 1982. She is studying at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Graphic Design. Kabasakal, who started taking illumination classes at Birlik Foundation from Mine Orhan in 2000, received her illumination certificate in 2004. She participated in Orhan Dağlı's miniature and flower painting classes at İSMEK between 2005 and 2007, and in 2007 she received a flower painting license. Kabasakal, who started taking illumination lessons from Orhan Dagli, also received an illumination license in 2010. Kabasakal won the second prize in miniature category at the "Istanbul, 2010 European Capital of Culture" competition organized by İSMEK in 2008. Nur Baybara is a student she trained.
