Born in 1987 in the Şarkışla district of Sivas, Akçay completed her associate degree at Ege University Bergama Vocational School Department of Art Conservation, and her undergraduate degree at Dokuz Eylül University (DEU) Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Illumination in 2021. Akçay, who worked as a restorer at the Bayraklı Old Smyrna excavation affiliated with Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism between 2016 and 2022, participated in various exhibitions and gave online seminars. Akçay studies for her master’s degree at the Department of Traditional Turkish Arts of the DEU Institute of Traditional Arts, and has a published article titled Birgi Karaoğlu Camii Mezar Taşı Bezemeleri. Since 2023, Akçay has been working as the responsible person for archaeological artifacts and fine arts at the Yaşar Museum, affiliated with Yaşar Holding.
