Cahide Keskiner was born in Istanbul in 1931. She started her illumination and miniature studies with Prof. Süheyl Ünver in 1953, and took painting classes from Macit Ayral and Şeref Akdik. In 1965, she started working as a Turkish Decorative Arts Expert at Yıldız Procelain Factory and founded the Turkish Decoration Workshop afterwards. Keskiner was appointed as an instructor to Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Traditional Turkish Decorative Arts Department in 1982. She participated in numerous exhibitions both at home and abroad, and held six personal exhibitions. Keskiner was given the Mevlâna Grand Award in 2000. She received certificates of participation and was awarded with many plaques by various institutions and organizations. Keskiner’s works were collected into a book titled “Book of Miniatures” in 2008 by Zeytinburnu Municipality in honor of her fiftieth year in the art.
