Born in 1958 in the Bergama district of Izmir, Pancar has been practicing the craft of basket weaving which he learned from his father Cavit Pancar, since the age of 7. Pancar, who has raised many students, received the Geleneksel Zanaatların Yaşatılması award (Surviving the Traditional Crafts) at the 15. Tarihe Saygı Yerel Koruma Ödülleri (15th Respect for History Local Protection Awards) organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in 2017.
