Serkan Albez was born in 1996. He graduated with an associate degree from the Department of Traditional Handicrafts at Pamukkale University in 2019. Albez developed an interest in calligraphy in 2016 and advanced his skills under the mentorship of master artist Muhammed Başdağ. He has been practicing the art of calligraphy for nearly a decade. Since 2021, he has been offering both in-person and online calligraphy training at the Çorlu Calligraphy Center, which he founded in Çorlu, Tekirdağ. In addition to teaching, he produces custom-made calligraphic artworks. In 2024, he was officially recognized by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism as a Calligraphy Artist and Bearer of Intangible Cultural Heritage. With this recognition, he became the first officially titled calligraphy artist in Tekirdağ, and his work was featured in a national broadcast on TRT News. Among his many students are Ömer Özcan, Derya Yenici, Türkan Karaca, Zeynep Öztürk, Rumeysa Aran, Erdal Azman, İrem Özcan, Rumeysa Sandallı, Mesude Ateş, Meral Topçu, Hatice Dereli, Mehtap Özcan, Nurhayat Diker, Eda Çakır, Selda Karakoç, Meryem Kılınç, Emel Altıntaş, Behçet Güler, İbrahim Hakkı Saroğlu, Gülçin Canipek, and Eyüp Karanfil. Notably, Eyüp Karanfil was also recognized as a Calligraphy Artist by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2025. Serkan Albez has actively participated in many cultural events across Turkey, including the Orion Shopping Mall Ramadan Events (2016, 2017, 2019, 2022, 2023), Pamukkale University year-end exhibitions, and various social responsibility projects. He continues his artistic and educational activities at his studio located at Nusratiye Mahallesi, Erdal İnönü Street No:1/B, Çorlu Calligraphy Center, Çorlu, Tekirdağ.
