Born in Kütahya in 1981, Koç graduated from Kütahya Girls’ Vocational and studied tile design at Anatolian Vocational High School, where she graduated from in 2000. Koç, who was a successful high school student in the field of pattern design, learnt how to draw on and paint tiles during her internship at Altın Çini. After graduating from high school, Koç worked with İbrahim Erdeğer at Süsler Tile Workshop for about a year, and then worked in some tile workshops. Koç worked alongside Mehmet Gürsoy, who has the UNESCO Living Human Treasure title, for eight months on Iznik-style tiles, and later taught as master instructor at Kütahya Public Education Centre in 2012 and 2018. Koç, who produces floral motifs and Istanbul-style tile works in her workshop she opened in 2022, is the mother of two children.
