Born in 1969 in Kütahya, Karaca began learning the subtleties of tile art in 1982 alongside Mehmet Üstünkaya. After working for many years in leading tile workshops in Kütahya, Karaca established his own workshop in 2000. He participated in II. Uluslararası Çeşme Tarih ve Kültür Sempozyumu (2nd International Çeşme History and Culture Symposium) organized in 1997 and in the Altın Eller Geleneksel El Sanatları Festivali (Golden Hands Traditional Handicrafts Festival) organized by the Beyoğlu Municipality of Istanbul in 2009 and 2013. Karaca, who also took part in the “Turkish Culture Days” in Belgium and Luxembourg in order to promote tile art abroad, produces products such as sugar bowls, vases, jars, candlesticks, ewers and jugs, but especially large objects. Karaca, who was given the Intangible Cultural Heritage Bearer Artist Introduction Card in the field of “tile” by the General Directorate of Research and Education of Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism, is a clay shaping and lathe instructor at Sakarya Büyükşehir Belediyesi Geleneksel Sanatlar Ihtisas Merkezi (Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Traditional Arts Specialization Center).
