Pelin Balkan, born on 1973, in Ankara, Turkey. She began her journey in ceramic arts in 2015 by participating in an overglaze porcelain decorating course. In 2017, she dedicated herself to developing her skills in traditional tile (çini) art and passing this ancient art to future generations. Balkan advanced her knowledge and expertise under the guidance of master instructors and earned Master Tile Artist, Master Tile Instructor, and Trainer of Trainers certifications through examinations. She currently continues to train students actively and collaborates with her mentors on joint projects. Her primary goal is to contribute to the worldwide recognition and preservation of Turkish-Islamic Tile Art. Throughout her career, she has exhibited her works at significant events including the ISMEK Feshane Exhibition, Pendik Municipality International Women’s Day Exhibition, Pendik International Art Festival, Pendik International Traditional Artists Meeting, Lifelong Learning Festival, exhibitions for the 50th Anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation and 185th Anniversary of the Turkish Gendarmerie, Istanbul and Sea Themed Exhibition, 7th Ethnosport Cultural Festival, and a collective exhibition at Istanbul Justice Palace featuring Seljuk Era Works and the Göktürk Alphabet.
