Born in Malatya, Özdemir graduated from the Ceramics Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at Inönü University (INU) in 2011. While studying, she participated in mosaic restorations at the Malatya Archaeological Museum and improved herself in the field of museology. She did a voluntary internship in ceramic restoration at the Malatya Aslantepe Excavation in 2009. After graduating from university in 2011, she started working as a master instructor/trainer in the field of tile/ceramics at Malatya Büyükşehir Belediyesi Sanat ve Kültür Merkezi (Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Art and Culture Center). Özdemir, who served as an instructor in two SODES projects in 2012-2014 and participated in many national and international group exhibitions between 2011 and 2020, was appointed as a lecturer at the Traditional Turkish Handicrafts Tile Department of the Turgutlu Vocational School at Manisa Celal Bayar University (MCBU) in 2020. Since 2021, Özdemir has worked as the assistant director of Manisa ve Yöresi Türk El Sanatları Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi (Manisa and its Region Turkish Handicrafts Application and Research Center) within MCBU, and between 2021 and 2023, she took part in organizing seminars, panels, and events on medicine and health at the museum. Özdemir contributed to MCBU Medical History and Deontology Museum’s gaining the status of Manisa’s first private museum, of which she has been the director since 2023. She continues her administrative duty at Manisa ve Yöresi Türk El Sanatları Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi, carries out the artist and craftsman inventory project throughout Manisa, contributes to the inclusion of these artists and craftspeople on the center’s website, and plans to organize exhibitions. In addition to her academic duties, Özdemir continues her thesis in the Master’s Program in the Ceramics Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at INU, which she started in 2021.
