Serenat Tanaçan was born in Istanbul in 1973. She is a graduate of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Tile Major and Book Binding Minor. She took tile classes from Prof. Kerim Silivrili and Prof. Sitare Turan Bakır, and classical book binding classes from Prof. İslam Seçen during her education at the university, which she started in 1993. She took part in the tile restoration works of Topkapı Palace Sacred Relics between 2007 and 2008, and in the application process of golden foil works in the restoration of Yıldız Palace Grand Mabeyn Kiosk. Tanaçan continues her works at her house which she turned into a workshop in Tekirdağ.
