Sümeyra Durmuş graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (MSFAU) Fine Arts Faculty Old Tile Restoration Department in 2014. She took illumination classes from Mamure Öz at Sema Workshop in 2006, and from Semih İrteş at the illumination courses opened at Topkapı Palace Museum by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2009. Durmuş, who studied with Prof. Sitare Turan during her university years, produces her works by blending the classical understanding with modern styles. She participated in Rüstem Paşa Mosque Tile Patterns Group Exhibition organized by Nakkaş Decorative Arts Center in 2013, and in the alumni exhibition organized by MSFAU in 2014 with her project works. Durmuş won third prize in the 2^nd International Istanbul Classical Arts (7 Hills 7 Arts) Competition in tile art branch in 2016.
