Metin Yılmaz was born in Erzurum in 1971. He is a graduate of the Department of Public Administration of Economics Faculty, and Faculty of Theology. He has been taking marbling classes from Alparslan Babaoğlu since 2013. Among the students Yılmaz trained are Emrullah Kemik, Ahmet Kaya and Mehmet Edip Bozoğlan.
