Uygun was born in Kütahya in 1983 and graduated from Fırat University, Department of Electrical Education in 2010. Uygun took marbling courses from Yavuz Merih Ulubay at Muğla Marbling Workshop between 2011-2015 and has been taking thuluth-naskh proficiency courses from calligrapher Mahmut Şahin since 2015.
