Ebru Yalkın was born in Istanbul in 1972. She graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Traditional Turkish Handicrafts Department. She took illumination classes from Mamure Öz and Semih İrteş in Traditional Turkish Decorational Arts Course organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Topkapı Palace. She completed her training here in 2004 and started taking miniature classes from Nusret Çolpan and Gülbün Mesera in the National Palaces Classical Turkish Arts Center in 2005. She continued her miniature classes at Nusret Çolpan's Workshop until 2008, and in 2013 she received the Artist Presentation Card given by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Yalkın, who has participated in many group exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad, also had the first prize in ArtTurkey Japan 2016 Nittoten with her work named “The Blue Owl”.
