Ayşenur Büyüknalçacı Özkır was born in Istanbul in 1983. She graduated from Anadolu University Open Education Faculty Theology Associate Degree Program in 2015. Özkır started her illumination training with Emel Türkmen at Mihrimah Sultan Complex in 2001 and continued for six years. She won fourth prize in classical halkar (a style of illumination) branch in Abu Dhabi Ministry of Culture el-Burde International Illumination Competition in 2008, and her work titled “Serlevha” was deemed worth of exhibition in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Turkish Decorative Arts Competition in 2009. Özkır started taking flower painting classes from Mafirat Onat in 2010 and participated in many group exhibitions. She is still illuminating her plate of graduation.
