Sara Özçelik was born in Muş in 1963. She is a graduate of Dokuz Eylül University Traditional Turkish Handicrafts Illumination Department. She produces her works with the classical tradition. Özçelik participated in various group exhibitions, gave kalemişi and illumination classes within the scope of the European Union Project. She gave tile classes at Mudanya Public Education Center, illumination and tile classes at many non-governmental organizations. Özçelik still works as an instructor at Uludağ University İznik Vocational School Restoration Department and at the Faculty of Architecture. She trained Elif Birkan in illumination field, and Hatice Özcan in tile field.
