Born in Belgium in 1974, Yavaşoğlu received the title of Traditional Handicrafts Artisan from Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2024. Yavaşoğlu, who continues to work with the aim of keeping traditional and cultural values alive and spreading them, has been a master instructor in needle lace and embroidery for about thirty years.
