Born in Istanbul in 1986, Deniz Çimen completed his primary and secondary education in İstanbul. In 2004, he began his studies in the art of calligraphy under the guidance of calligrapher Gürkan Pehlivan. During his time at Marmara University's Faculty of Fine Arts, Traditional Turkish Handicrafts Department, from which he graduated in 2013, he studied with esteemed professors such as Prof. Dr. Uğur Derman and Prof. Dr. Çiçek Derman. He also pursued a minor in the Photography Department at the same faculty. As a professional photographer, Çimen works in the fields of Visual Art and Media Art. He currently assists Dr. Erkan Özdilek in "Basic Art and Design" courses at Maltepe University's Faculty of Fine Arts. In 2013, he received a certificate of mastery (icazet) in the Sülüs and Nesih calligraphy styles from Gürkan Pehlivan. Among his notable works are the interior calligraphy designs of the Nevşehir University Mosque. Deniz Çimen, who signs his works with the pseudonym "Bahrî," has been teaching Basic Art and Calligraphy for over 15 years at various institutions and organizations
