Şefika Çelik was born in Izmit in 1976. She is a graduate of Anadolu University Public Administration Department. Çelik received license in thuluth, naskh, ruq’ah and ta’liq khatts from Mahmut Şahin in 2011. She studied diwani with Turan Sevgili, and took charcoal drawing classes. Çelik received her illumination license from Abdullah Aydemir. She founded Ülker Art House and Yedi Kandil Art Association (YEKSADER). Çelik, who is still the president of the association, continues to train students and producing artworks. She gave licenses to Melek İlknur Tekel and Emine Uyar. Some of the students Çelik trained are Ayşe İsti, Feride Şirin, Türkan Şahin and Lale Kara.
