Turan Sevgili was born in Erzurum in 1945. She is a graduate of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Fine Arts Faculty Textile Department. Sevgili received her license from Hamdi Aytaç. In 2006, she held a personal exhibition at the Museum of Islamic Works in 2006. Sevgili continues giving classes at her own workshop.
