 Yasin Kurt was born in Istanbul in 1975. He is a graduate of Marmara University Faculty of Law, and works as a lawyer. Kurt received his thuluth-naskh license from Hüseyin Kutlu in 2007. He took Ottoman Turkish classes from Mehmet Şevket Eygi, marbling classes from Peyami Gürel, diction and commentating classes from Sayra Orkan, ney classes from Ahmet Şahin, and photography classes from Gülderen Bölük. He continues his khatt studies at his workshop in Moda.
