Ekrem Yavaş was born in Balıkesir in 1970. He worked as a geography teacher for twelve years. He worked on weavingsof woolen carpets woven in the old years by staying true to their originals. Yavaş, who wove the old Yağcıbedir Carpets included in the Carpet Catalogue prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, also attemptedto take a geographical sign for Yağcıbedir Carpet. Fatma Kayahan and Halil Can are the students he trained.
