Working as a primary school teacher for twenty-four years, Vatan has been practicing the art of kazaziye (a sort of wire-twisting art) for ten years. Vatan, who has participated in festivals in various cities within the scope of Anadolu El Sanatlarını Yaşatma ve Geliştirme Derneği (ANELSANDER) (Association for the Survival and Development of Anatolian Handicrafts), of which she is a member, was awarded the title of Intangible Cultural Heritage Bearer in the kazaziye branch by the General Directorate of Living Heritage and Cultural Activities of Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2023.
