Güzin Umur was born in Elazığ in 1959. She took painting and stained glass classes at the Association of American Culture, illumination classes from Bedia Altunbaş in 1990, miniature classes from Ömer Faruk Atabek and marbling classes from Ekrem Çoktan between 1996-1999. She attended Ayşe Tak’s miniature classes between 2015-2017, and continues her studies with Berrin Çakin Güç. Umur, who participated in many group exhibitions both at home and abroad, won exhibition awards in illumination and miniature branches in the State Turkish Decorative Arts Competition. She is a member of GESAM.
