Hasan Damar was born in Çanakkale in 1951. He was trained by saz (a string instrument) masters like Turkish Folk Music Artist Şemsi Yatsıman and Macit İşleyen and received his mastership license from them. He performs his craft by making many different musical instruments in his workshop at his house in Çan.
