After retiring from primary school teaching in 1999, Erbakan started patchwork courses and first received training in machine patchwork and then in hand patchwork. Erbakan, who received a master instructor certificate and graduated from the Department of Cultural Heritage and Tourism of Anadolu University Open Education Faculty in 2020, started to make paintings with fabrics by combining patchwork with the subjects from tourism. Erbakan, who uses many techniques in patchwork, made maps using cloths produced by Sümerbank, and paintings of famous painters using fabrics. Erbakan has been giving hand patchwork training at Nazilli Public Education Center for ten years.
