Yaykal was born in 1974 in the Tire district of Izmir. Yaykal, who learned beledi weaving (a type of cotton weaving that is difficult to weave) from her master and father Saim Bayri, is one of the fourth generation masters who keeps this profession alive. Yaykal also taught her daughter the craft of beledi weaving, and she tries to pass the profession on from generation to generation by continuing to train new masters.
