Sultan Nagihan Okumuş Öyekçin was born in 1979 in İzmir, Turkey. She graduated from Anadolu University, Department of Sociology in 2022 and currently works as a public officer. She began her journey in the art of ebru (traditional Turkish marbling) in 2002. In 1999, she took marbling lessons on fabric, wood, and paper surfaces from Hülya Küntay. Between 2000 and 2006, she continued her training at the Fuat Başar Studio in Küçükayasofya, Istanbul, and received her ebru certification (icazet) from Fuat Başar. Okumuş Öyekçin later established her own studio in Güzelyalı, İzmir. She is currently teaching traditional ebru classes at the İzmir Culture and Art Factory. She participated in her first exhibition in 2006. Among her students are Begüm Koçak and Ebrar Anış.
