Feride Ateştepe Altun was born in 1975 in Rize. In 2009, Altun started studying thuluth, naskh and riq’a with Khattat Mahmut Şahin, and received his license in 2012. Altun, who started studying nesta’liq in 2014, received the title of Turkish Arts and Crafts Artist of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2015. The artist, who participated in many exhibitions in the country with his works, and whose works are many in mosques, Islamic monasteries and private collections, continues his works in Bab-ı Nun (Gate of ‘Nun’ which is a letter in Arabic alphabet) Association of Traditional Arts where he is a member, and gives khatt classes at various institutions.
