Feyza Paşahan Kıştan was born in Istanbul in 1978. She dropped out Istanbul University Sociology Department in 1999 and began her khatt training at a private institution in Istanbul. At the end of seven years she completed her training by finishing hurufat (means ‘letters’) and mürekkebât (means ‘pieces that create a whole’) in the branch of naskh and thuluth, and started her khatt specialization training with Osman Özçay in 2013, which she still continues. She adopts Khattat Şevki Efendi’s style in thuluth, and Khattat Sami Efendi’s style in jali thuluth in her classical khatt works. A work of the artists has been found worthy of exhibiting in the 17th State Turkish Decorative Arts Competition in 2013, and some of her works are in private collections. She still continues her works at her workshop in Kıztaşı.
