Recep Minga was born in Bursa in 1976. He is a graduate of Yildiz Technical University Department of Statistics. Minga took naskh and thuluth classes from Davut Bektaş for three years, and has been taking ta’liq classes from Tahsin Kurt since 2015. He concentrated more on kufic-makili script styles in his khatt studies. Minga received a prize with the hilya work he designed with kufic-makili script styles in the 2^nd Hilya Competition organized by Mehmet Çebi.  He created many logos and designs with kufic script style, Latin and Arabic letters. Minga continues his works at his workshop.
