Born in 1980 in Kütahya, Kayış graduated from Vocational High School Tile and Ceramic Department in 1997 and worked in various workshops until 2004. Kayış, who founded his own workshop in 2005, received the title of Intangible Cultural Heritage Bearer from the Evaluation Board of Intangible Cultural Heritage Bearers of Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2011. Kayış participated in various exhibitions and fairs in Türkiye and abroad, and trained many apprentices. He graduated from Dumlupınar University Tile Art and Design Department in 2022. Kayış’s works are in traditional and modern styles. He continues to work in his workshop in Kütahya.
