İbrahim Çelik was born in İznik in 1963. He took tile – ceramics classes from Rasih Kocaman, and did studies about producing İznik tile – ceramics with materials and forms true to the original. He also designs sigrafito works in Byzantine – Seljuq style, and has been continuing his artistic works at his workshop in İznik for almost thirty years. Çelik produces both cookware tiles and wall tiles, he also produces works with khatt scriptures. Some of the students he trained are Nurgül Çelik, Handan Tabak, Gamze Çelik, Emine Kayalı, Selma Güzel and Murat Çelik.
