Born in Kütahya, Tunca graduated from Zonguldak Karaelmas University, Department of Mining Engineering. Tunca, who retired after working for 22 years at the Kütahya Directorate of Village Services, has worked on charcoal, watercolor and oil painting; created various patterns and tiles. Interested in painting since primary school, Tunca began focusing on sgraffito art in 2006 and received training from Lokman Acar at the Kütahya Dumlupınar University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Sgraffito Workshop. Tunca, who opened Türkiye’s first solo sgraffito exhibition in Kütahya with 53 works he made in four years starting in 2010, was awarded the Intangible Cultural Heritage Bearer Artist Introduction Card in the field of sgraffito by the General Directorate of Research and Education of Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2011. Tunca, who has opened many solo exhibitions and participated in various group exhibitions, continues to produce artworks in his workshop at the Kütahya Municipality City Council Culture and Art Center.
