Mürüvvet Özelgün, born in 1951, graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (MSFAU) Fine Arts Faculty Department of Architecture, and completed her graduate studies at the same department. She worked as a technical expert in banking sector and retired. Özelgün attended the public education center’s painting courses for two years, then got into Feneryolu Practical Girls’ Art School’s Painting Department and graduated after her four-year training. She studied with Nuran Turan at Pendik Municipality Neyzen Tevfik Art Center for three years, with Nilgün Tanyas at Pendik Municipality Fevzi Çakmak Art Center for four years. She still attends the tile courses of Pendik Municipality Fevzi Çakmak Art Center. Özelgün took part in tile wall panel building project for Pendik Government Office, and participated in the exhibitions at Pendik coast event tents. She has been participating in the group exhibitions organized by Pendik Mehmet Akif Cultural Center each year.
