Fatma Gümüş was born in 1977 in Gölcük, Kocaeli. She graduated from the Girls’ Vocational High School, Department of Traditional Handicrafts Technology, in the 1994–1995 academic year. Gümüş works as a traditional handicrafts teacher and has been practicing embroidery arts for many years. She received training under master artist Nagihan Tekin and has trained students herself, including Emel Seyhan Sert. Although she does not currently own a personal workshop, she participated in the Traditional Handicrafts Festival held in 2020. She is officially recognized by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism as an artist in the field of Embroidery Arts.
