Nurhan Sökmen was born in Balıkesir in 1963. She has been working as a needlecraft and machine techniques instructor, and has given knitting machine, overlock machine, sewing, hand and machine embroidery and patchworking classes at many public education centers. Sökmen held various personal exhibitions.
