Born in 1959 in the Ahatlar village of Manisa, Demirci, Çelik graduated from Demirci Imam Hatip High School in 1976 and Anadolu University Open Education Faculty Social Sciences Associate Degree Programme in 1995. Çelik, who worked as a religious officer in the Presidency of Religious Affairs between 1981 and 2023, started to be interested in the art of wood carving and wood burning in 2000. Çelik, who also is also interested in other art forms such as tile making, model shipbuilding, macrame, calligraphy and artificial flower making, opened exhibitions in Demirci and in Manisa and Ankara with the invitation of Manisa Provincial Mufti’s Office and the Presidency of Religious Affairs. Çelik was awarded the title of wood carving artist by Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2022, and gave wood carving trainings at Demirci Public Education Centre in 2023. Çelik, who blends the art of wood carving with the art of calligraphy, continues to work in his workshop at his home and to  transfer this art to enthusiasts.
