Songül Şimşek was born in 1978 in Istanbul. She began working in the fields of tile, ceramics, and pottery art in 2012. She received training from prominent artists such as Latife Aktan, Gülen Kesova, and Savaş Çevik. In 2025, she completed her master's degree at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University, Department of Traditional Turkish Arts. In addition to her artistic practice, she has been actively involved in education and has trained many students. She participated in the Turkish-Islamic Arts Fair in 2025. She currently continues her artistic work at her personal studio, Acıbadem Çini Atölyesi.
