The inventory project called Masters of Istanbul was initiated by the Traditional Arts Association in 2010 to identify the addresses of artisans of traditional Turkish arts and crafts. This project was expanded in 2017 and implemented in the cities of the Marmara Region.
With the Masters of Turkey Marmara Region Project, our aim is to make the heritage and artistic tradition of the region visible and to transfer it to future generations by publishing the images of artworks, details about artistic backgrounds, and the current contact information of the masters of traditional arts and crafts living and working in the cities of Marmara region (Balıkesir, Bilecik, Bursa, Çanakkale, Çanakkale, Edirne, Istanbul, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Tekirdağ and Yalova).
The Masters of Turkey Marmara Region Project consists of a trilingual website in Turkish, English and Arabic, an online map and a book. The names and institutions identified as the result of online applications are listed in alphabetical order on the website and in the book. In addition, through the categorization of art branches and cities, an easy and user-friendly navigation and search in both the book and on the website is possible.
