Yaşar Özörtbaş, born in 1961, started working on the art of naht in 1983 in Istanbul. He held his first personal exhibition at Beyoğlu Kazım Taşkent Exhibition Hall in 1986. Özörtbaş still gives naht classes at Hendek Public Education Center. Some of the students he trained are Yusuf Aydın, Okan Karataş, Mücahit Talha Diş and Ayşegül Çakmak.
