Esra Elitaş was born in 1973. She took two years of illumination lessons from Semih İrteş and Mamure Öz. Then she started to work the workshop called Sema Nakışhanesi which is founded by Semih İrteş and Mamure Öz. Elitaş gave two years of illumination lessons in firstly Bakırköy Rıffat Ilgaz Library then Orhan Kemal District Public Library and lastly in Topkapı Palace. She participated in various group exhibitions inside and abroad. She won the first prize in a Masters of Future Competition which is conducted by  Traditional Arts Foundation, and she took the third prize in “7 tepe 7 sanat” competition. She continues to work for the restoration of third Ahmet Yemiş Room which is placed in Topkapı Palace Harem.
